Gearing For Raids Empty
PostSubject: Gearing For Raids   Gearing For Raids EmptyWed Nov 04, 2009 6:20 pm

I Know some of you know most of this, but some don't so i figure i might as well throw something up here for anyone just hitting 80 for the first time and not knowing what to do to get into a raid.

Gearing is easier these day the the emblems of conquest and Norm ToC dropping item lvl 200 and H ToC dropping even better. Using emblems of Conquest can get you some wicked gear, but you will need a fair few of them. 150 approx. But running Daily H and Daily norm Will make this easier. And if no one is free, Use the LFG function or just hang out in trade and get a group that way.

PVP Gear even tho it may look pretty, The resilience rating is useless in Raids. Anything that has a resilience stats should also be looked at to replaced.

We have Enchanters in the guild, and we can enchant any piece which has an item lvl greater then 200. Also remember to Jem your gear With stats you need. You don't always need the set bonus.

A rough guild for Gear, Jemming and enchanting is;

Caster Dps (mage, priest, locks, Ele Shammys and boomy druids) want Spell power, Intellect, sprit, mp5, Crit and Hit.

Healers are the same as casters, but they don't need any Hit.

Melee Dps (warriors, pallys, DK's, rogues, Enhance Shammys and feral druids) Attack power, Hit, Crit, Strength, agility, expertise and haste.

Tanks Need to get their defence rating to 540 or more first(unless feral bear tank, they don't need defence, the just stack Stam) then while keeping above that 540 def Cap, you then Jem depending on your class.

This is just a rough guild, for more precise info, post a reply or ask in game.

Gearing For Raids Empty

Great post Hen,
Would just like to add a useful tool which DPS can use to check they have the correct amount of hit rating. Hit is VERY important as if your attacks miss the target your dps goes DOWN. This hit calculater is easy to use, just select your class, then click any of the talents/abilities which increase your hit (aka Shadow Focus for Priests, Precision for Wars/Rogues) as well as any buffs available to your group/raid (Draenai will always have an extra 1% hit no matter what Very Happy). Click Calculate and you will see the different percentages needed for your class/spec to be hit capped.

The Hit Calculater can be found here:
